BERMUDA GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL NOTICES
ALPHABETICAL LISTING OF BARRISTERS & ATTORNEYS HOLDING PRACTISING CERTIFICATES FOR 2025 (where applicable)
Pursuant to section 10(5)(a) of the Bermuda Bar Act 1974, the Bar Council hereby publishes the alphabetical list of persons who have at the 1st of January 2025 (unless otherwise notified by issue date) obtained a practising certificate.
For clarity, the Bar Council has also incorporated those members entitled to practice without the need for a practising certificate:
1. Members permitted to practice under section 53(1) of the Supreme Court Act 1905, which include the Attorney General’s Chambers, and the Ministry of Legal Affairs & Constitutional Reform and the Department of Public Prosecutions are designated by (*);
and
2. Members permitted to practice as Registered Associates under Part IV of the Bermuda Bar Act 1974 are designated by (**).
UNLAWFUL PRACTICE OF THE LAW: Any person unauthorized to practice law in this jurisdiction risks punishment on summary conviction, imprisonment for 6 months or a fine of $1,000 or both such imprisonment and fine (Bermuda Bar Act 1974 Rule 26 s. (1)(1A)&(2) apply).
Any Barrister & Attorney who has not been issued a practicing Certificate upon summary conviction: imprisonment of 2 years or a fine of $10,000 or both such imprisonment and fine, and further is not entitled to maintain any action for the recovery of any fee on account of in relation to any legal business done by him in the course of such practice (Bermuda Bar Act 1974 Rule 29 s. (1)(2) apply).
