Register as a Psychologist
In order to practice as a psychologist in Bermuda, you must register with the Bermuda Psychologists Council (BPC). You will need to renew your registration every three years.
Psychologists are trained professionals who help ensure the health and well-being of individuals, families, groups, and organizations through the promotion of mental health and wellbeing. They also engage in consultation, teaching, research, and programme/service development.

The application must be submitted along with:
- Copies of any professional qualifications mentioned in the application;
- A current C.V. and copies of any documents relating to your professional qualifications, experience and character; and
- A copy of a certificate for malpractice insurance coverage
The completed form must be returned to the Registrar with the relevant documents and required fee. You can use the Education and Training Guide for Registering as a Psychologist to help complete your application. All forms and documentation are then forwarded to the BPC for consideration.
Fees
- New Registration - $250
- Re-Registration - $165
- Late fee for Re-Registration - $45
- Requesting a certificate of professional standing - $25
- Registration for Visiting Psychologist - $70
- Registration for Locum Psychologist - $70
Please note that cheques should be made payable to the Accountant General.
How long will it take to get my application reviewed?
The BPC generally meets on a monthly basis. Following review of your submitted documentation, the BPC will advise the Registrar of their decision, and the Registrar will contact you.
A Certificate of Registration will be issued by the Registrar if your application is successful.
How do I renew my registration?
Your registration expires three years from the date of registration by the Registrar. In order to continue to practice as a psychologist in Bermuda, you need to complete the re-registration process by submitting your re-registration application form here.
Re-registration also requires the completion of 60 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits. These credits have to be earned through specific activities. For more information, download the

If the application is not submitted within three months of the expiration of registration, you will be removed from the register and will have to apply as a new registrant.
