EMO update - 14 October 9:15 am
At first light work crews from the Ministry of Public Works, Department of Parks, the Royal Bermuda Regiment and Belco continued their clearing and restoration works around Bermuda.
The Emergency Measures Organisation (EMO) continues to ask for the public's patience as these essential service personnel go about these important works.
Progress has been made with Belco getting more customers online, the Causeway reopening and the L.F. Wade International Airport set to reopen at noon today.
With a fresh day, the EMO continue to receive damage reports from around the island including residential damage, downed power lines and trees. Main roads are mostly clear, but motorists are urged to drive with caution as there is still debris in the road. Minor roads are being assessed and cleared today.
As a reminder, the EMO is scheduled to meet in the upcoming hours and following their meeting, there will be a further comprehensive update to the public. As a note, the Minister of National Security, Sen. Jeffrey Baron is currently touring around the island with the RBR assessing residential and structural damage.
