LANE CLOSURE
FOR
BELCO TRENCH WORKS – PHASE II
Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 – Sunday, September 26th, 2021
The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the ongoing BELCO trenching project on Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton Parish will require an extension to the one lane closure for Phase II of the project taking this into Flatts.
This lane closure will be on Harrington Sound Road starting from Knapton Hill through to Middle Road in Flatts for approximately 27 weeks. The trench work will affect the westbound lane in sections of approximately 200 foot lengths at a time. The lane closure will be in effect day-and-night for the duration of this project and will be managed with traffic signs and signals.
Motorists are asked to avoid these lane closure sections and to use alternative routes via Devil’s Hole Hill, Knapton Hill or Harrington Hundreds Road for the duration of this trenching work. Signs will be placed to indicate detour routes.
Traffic controls will be under the direction of BELCO and Ministry of Public Works representative and will be managed through traffic control signals and detour signs.
The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.
Should there be any questions regarding these works, please direct queries to the attention of Jonathan Pedro, Project Manager for BELCO at 295-5111 ext. 1441. Any queries on detour routes should be directed to Tina Beer-Searle, Civil Engineer Highways for the Ministry of Public Works on 501-3044.
