BAMZ To Close Public Visits
The Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo [BAMZ] will be closing to the general public from Saturday, December 12th 2020 until January 1st 2021 to limit potential exposure to animals that are susceptible to coronaviruses and to ensure that the needed provision of care can be provided to its animals and fish.
Dr. Ian Walker (Principal Curator) added, “Our animals and fish require round the clock care which is provided by our dedicated and experienced staff. The dilemma comes if critical staff are quarantined for a proven or suspected Covid case. Temporary closure will allow BAMZ to minimize the risk to the facility. We apologize to our loyal patrons and ask for their understanding at this time as this action is being taken for the safety of the animals, members of the public who visit the zoo and animal care staff.”
