The island’s schools, camps, playgrounds, clinical laboratories and pharmacies are responsible for providing the public with safe settings for care and play. Therefore it is of critical importance that these settings meet a standard that ensures utmost safety.
Our Environmental Health officers provide inspections to the following organisations to ensure a minimum safety standard is met and to enable licensing:
Organization |
Licensing Body |
Clinical laboratories |
Pharmacies |
Hairdressers |
Barbers |
Cosmetologists |
Piercers |
Tattooists |
Nursing and Residential Care Homes |
Schools |
These organisations are inspected on an annual basis. If there are any concerns found, the organisation is provided a timeframe for correcting the issue. An Environmental Health Officer will then follow-up and review the changes made.
