Congratulations on deciding to apply to join the Student Services working group as part of Education Reform. You’ve taken the first step on an exciting and challenging journey.
The Student Services workstream is a new and urgent workstream that is needed as part of the Education Reform Unit. Student Services is vast and includes the areas of Learning Support, School Psychology, School Counseling, Behavior Management, and Gifted & Talented programs.
The Student Services working group will co-develop a strategy that aims to transform Student Services into a more comprehensive, inclusive, and responsive support system that addresses the diverse needs of all students, guided by the emerging Inclusive and Special Education Policy while being informed by global best practices.
We are looking to form an interdisciplinary team of people who have interest, experience, and knowledge.
This form will include the usual questions you would expect to find in a form like this. However, you will find that there are some new and reflective questions too. It is important to us that we select a team with not only the right experiences and knowledge but also the right mindset and commitment.
Let us take a look at the kind of experience, capabilities and dispositions we think you will need in the team.
You will need to be:
- A problem solver, with a solution focused disposition, committed to seeing complex work through, even when it gets tough.
- An inspiring movement builder making connections between people, organisations and ideas to grow the alliances needed to make change happen at scale.
- A collaborative spirit with a passion for change and open to working and learning with others in new ways.
- A leader with a growth mindset engaging and bringing others on a journey to turn ideas into action and to generate new strategic opportunities.
