The Ministry of Public Works and Environment would like to inform the public about the upcoming waste day change due to the Labour Day Public Holiday.
Labour Day will be observed on Monday, September 1st, and, as a result, waste collections that week will follow a roll-over schedule: Monday’s waste will be collected on Tuesday, Tuesday’s waste will be collected on Wednesday, and so on, concluding with Friday’s being collected on Saturday, 6 September.
Recycling collection is unaffected by the holiday. Per the 2025 Waste and Recycling Schedule, west end recycling will be collected on Thursday, and east end recycling will be collected on Friday.
The Tynes Bay Public Drop-off will be open from 9 a.m. until noon on Monday, 1st September. On all other days, it will be open per the regular schedule from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
