The Ministry of Youth, Social Development, and Seniors presents "Understanding Disability in the Workplace Panel Discussion." This vital conversation addressing the topic of inclusivity and how disability presents itself in the workplace will take place on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at 1:00 P.M.
"Understanding and accommodating disabilities in the workplace is not just a moral imperative but a fundamental aspect of building a truly inclusive society. This panel discussion aims to shed light on crucial insights and strategies to create workplaces that value and support individuals of all abilities," said the Minister of Youth, Social Development, and Seniors, The Hon. Tinée Furbert, JP, MP.
"Our panelists are experts in their respective fields and bring invaluable perspectives to the discussion. They will each explore various aspects of disability in the workplace to highlight accessible workplaces, support mechanisms for individuals with disabilities, and strategies for employers to create more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environments."
Panelists include:
- Lisa Reed: Executive Officer, Human Rights Commission
- Sacha Richardson: Chairwoman, Disability Advisory Council and Disability Advocate/Charity Consultant
- Malika Cartwright: Director of Workforce Development, Bermuda Government
- Sherrie Lynn Lilley: Mental Health Counselor and Executive Director, Inspire Bermuda
- Keith Simmons: Disability Advocate
