The Ministry of Transport is reminding the public that the additional Sunday Pink Route ferry service becomes effective April 16.
Please see the below. As the public is aware, the Pink Route ferry services commuters in Paget and Warwick areas. The ferry runs along Hamilton Harbour and makes stops at, Salt Kettle, Darrell's Wharf, and the Belmont Ferry.
The Minister of Transport, Wayne Furbert announced earlier this year that the Ministry and the Department of Marine and Ports Services were working diligently to enhance the Pink Route Ferry for area residents.
As such, the service for the route was enhanced and now offers the following:
- Operate ten runs per day from Monday to Friday.
- Three runs have been added to cover late-morning to noonday.
- The weekend service was added at the request of the riding public.
- A Sunday service for commuters is operational effective 16th April.
Minister Furbert said, “Access to efficient public transportation is vital for our residents and visitors. We have listened and done the work needed to enhance this route. The Marine and Port Services team provides our residents and visitors with safe and reliable ferry service on a daily basis. Our ferries are an effective and efficient way to travel. And I’m encouraging more residents to use the service and help us reduce road congestion.”
