The Bermuda Post Office (BPO) is advising the public that the Philatelic Bureau will soon be located at the historic Perot Post Office.
And the Ministry for the Cabinet Office with Responsibility for Government Reform is advising however that during the move process it became apparent that upgrades to the facility were required. And Perot is temporary closed in order to undergo minor renovations to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. The public can be assured that the upgrades will not affect the historical building status of Perot Post Office.
The Ministry notes that the Philatelic Bureau’s relocation is considered a natural transition, as Perot Post Office is viewed as one of Bermuda’s most iconic historical visitor attractions.
The Ministry anticipates that the move will result in added revenue in the purchase of special edition stamps offered by the Philatelic Bureau. So far this year, the Philatelic Bureau has released three popular commemorative stamp series. In March it released the 50th Anniversary of the Bermuda Turtle Project; in May it released stamps commemorating the Royal Wedding of HRH Prince Henry of Wales to Rachel Meghan Markle; and in June, the Bureau issued a stamp series recognizing Bermuda’s Cedar Handle Bags.
The Ministry takes this opportunity to apologise for any inconvenience the move has caused to visitors and residents, and thanks the public for their patience. The public will be advised once Perot Post Office has reopened for regular business.
