The Ministry of Public Works expresses its condolences on the passing of Mr Russell G Wade, a distinguished former public servant who dedicated many years of service to Bermuda.
Mr Wade held several senior positions within the Ministry, including Principal Engineer—structures, Chief Engineer, and, ultimately, Permanent Secretary.
During his tenure, Bermuda saw significant advancements in public infrastructure, including developing key facilities such as the Tynes Bay Waste to Energy Facility, which remains a vital part of the Island's waste management system.
A Ministry of Public Works spokesperson stated: "Mr Wade's leadership and technical expertise left a lasting impact on Bermuda's infrastructure. His dedication to public service and commitment to excellence set a standard that continues to inspire those working in the Ministry today.
“We extend our heartfelt sympathies to his family, friends, and former colleagues during this difficult time."
